Holiday Friday Fun

We hosted a party today at Princeton Paper Source.  It was a Birthday party with 8 ten year olds.  It was so much fun.  They were not only celebrating a birthday, but the start of a 2 1/2 week vacation and a big snow fall coming this weekend.  They sang a version of Happy Birthday I have never heard before it ended with a prayer.  I think whatever this little girl wished for she would surely receive.  I hope we have more parties like this....it was great fun.  They all made a Gingerbread House made of paper---they really loved it and it was fun to see the parents faces when they saw what they were coming home with.
I ran to my car because I had to get to Zandra's annual cookie swap........there was traffic.  I was supposed to get to her house at 7pm, but I didn't even get home until ten of 7.  I quick made copies of the recipe.  I baked 4 1/2 dozen cookies and was lucky enough to get there by eight.
Oh, what a sight......these are all of the cookies.......
This is what my platter looked like with all the cookies.  Since, most of the attendees are scrapbookers we all bring recipe cards.  The book with all the recipes and invitations is getting pretty fat.  It is always a fun night that includes a chocolate martini.  So, now I am ready for a long winter's nap........preparing for maybe a foot of snow.......good thing I love the stuff!

Geralyn, It sounds like a busy but perfect day to me! Hope the day is beautiful. We only had a couple of inches. I love it too. Hugs, Pam

Wow, that decorated cookie display was lovely. The Gingerbread family smack in the middle of the table was perfect. Love those decorating touches. I don't know what looks more appealing...the cookies or the recipe cards. Just lovely. Enjoy that snow.
