We did SHINE in 2009

One day I was going through one of my purchases last year in Paris.....it was a small book on Paris and it contained many charming watercolors.  I picked a few of my favorites to make stickers  for scrapbooking our trip.  I had one of my moments when I saw this picture of the Champs Elysees.  Look at the map of how the streets from the Champ Elysees branch out from the center and look like rays of sunshine.  I began to reflect on how this is the very place my family and I were to start this year of 2009.  We all have had a great year of accomplishments and surprises.  There was new life added to our family.....where we thought there were endings....there were new beginnings......our lives are true circles shining brightly.
This is a picture New Years Day.....my husband wanted a picture here.  I wish someone took a picture of all four of us.  We spent the evening walking and talking.  The Avenue was lined with trees of white lights and many of the pictures did not come out.  I am so grateful of all the opportunities this year has brought our family.  I am grateful I can look at it as a year to shine.  We as a family were able to have the time to really appreciate a life full of travel, good food, music, a comfortable home, the latest technology, good friends and each other.  It is a great time to look at the year as a whole.  Blogging makes me look deep into the heart of our lives and I am so thankful I have it all documented.  I have chosen my word for 2010 and it is AGAIN.  It will be a year of going through all of our families pictures and scrapbooking or scanning them so my life will be documented.  So, next years blog will almost be my autobiography.  I want to use this time I spend on the computer wisely.  I appreciate everyone who has ever left a comment and taken the time to read my blog.  It is a huge support to me as a whole.  I just feel right now what is important is to document our family's history for my children.  I will also include what is going on in our lives presently.  Wishing you and yours a very Happy and Healthy New Year.  Looking forward to a new decade......2010 a year to move forward while looking back AGAIN!

Dear Geralyn,

I'm so happy to read that you plan to document the happenings of your family in the coming year. You know how I feel about such things, having read my blog. I think it's so very important to have this account of life to pass along to ones children.

I'm so glad that you all shined in 2009. I haven't paused much to think on all that's happened yet I will do so in the coming days, looking back, as you did, on my blog to see where we've been.

I hope you and your family have a most blessed 2010. A new decade. It's just incredible to me that so much time has passed. Cherish and savor the moments as you have been. Happy New Year.

Wonderful plan Geralyn. It is great to be able to keep this "journal" to reflect back on. Keep shining again this year. Love, Pam

Geralyn,
I'm so excited you will be dedicating time for this new venture. I totally agree with you when you said that "blogging makes me look deep into the heart of our lives." It definitely does, and even more so when you begin to reminisce and document the past. It has been a catharsis for me. It has made me appreciate my life more in so many ways.

Well Girlie, this was an awesome post and you seem to have everything fitting right into place for the new year.
2009 was a wonderful year for you and I'm so glad that I was a part of it. I still have your beautiful cards from Paris that I won in your giveaway, the goodies that I bought from your etsy, a piece of your art in the bracelet collaboration, shared in your excitement celebrating your new job through our late night emails and most of all, your un-ending friendship that blanketed me throughout the good (and sad) of my 2009. It's amazing how people may come and go but we've stuck together...and I thank you for that.
I hope that 2010 brings you much joy and happiness and may you love, cherish and journal your family. I'll be looking forward to reading all about it!!!!!

Happy New Year Geralyn...AGAIN! ;)
