Rose Colored Glasses

I was thinking of this painting my daughter did a couple of weeks ago when I was doing my rosy post.  Along the lines of Mary Tyler Moore---I said oh you are looking through life through rose colored glasses.....no I painted a self portrait with roses reflected in my sunglasses---ok it's all in the eye of the beholder.  Freshman year for Christmas she sent out cards digitally enhanced with a picture of her with sunglasses and crabs and lobsters in the reflection.  I can't wait to see what the future brings for this girl.
Last night was her last chorus concert....a lot of happy celebration songs.....I was good --no tears here---ok maybe a little in the corner of my eye.  Kaylyn won the National Chorus Award--yea.  She worked hard and you could still see after all these years the joy that chorus has brought her.  She had a solo at the end.......and with all the practice and I don't want to do this...she made us proud.  As long as she does this for the joy of it---I am happy!!!!!

How wonderful Geralyn. An award for doing what Katlyn loves to do. National Chorus Award! You should all be proud. Plus all that art talent as well. I absolutely love the rose colored glasses. She should have prints made and start an etsy shop of her own. I have been encouraging Sadie to do this. A bit of pocket money for fun little outings with friends. (Or all those $$$$ art supplies in their future) Have a great day, Hugs, Pam

This is beautiful! Congratulations on her award... and chorus of all things ~ is there anything more wonderful? :) I'm a former Choir girl myself and have such fond memeories of those days. I feel sad that they don't offer choir here in our small town in the Junior High where my daughter attends. It doesn't begin until High School and even then, it's much different than what we had growing up in the much larger Chicago area.

All the best to you and your dear daughter.
