This was an amazing show. Kaylyn and I traveled to Washington DC last Christmas break to see some of Mickalene's work and then this year this show is at the Brooklyn Museum in NY until January 16th.
This was my favorite. Many of the works were made this year and they are covered in rhinestones.
She recreated her scenes of her studios.....love the records and backgammon, of course and how she uses influences of quilting in the floors and furniture. Truley, the most influential contemporary Artist I have ever enjoyed. Loved at the end there was a video of how her mother was a great influence. The amount of work she has created in the last year is remarkable, also.
