Magical Day

August 28th was our 27th Wedding Anniversary and our children's parent orientation.  I woke up tired and not too ready to face the day.  I didn't go to Creative Escape because of this day.  But, it was our second ride to Philiadelphia this week and it was raining.  We wanted to get an early start, but by the time we gathered all that was on the list to bring to the kids, it was looking to be a dreary day.  When we arrived to bring the kids their TV, hair dryer, coffee table....the list goes on we were already late for the lectures for orientation.  My son said let's just go to lunch and that sounded good to all of us.  We headed down South Street to Downey's and passed by the Magic Gardens and as you can see ended up having a very happy anniversary in Philiadelphia.  We talked on our way home of all the spots we saw and would like to go back and see.  It is exciting to see what an inspiring place our children will study college in.

Imagine the Possibilities

The living room floor is covered with boxes and suitcases and we are still trying to decide to take two cars or one.  My husband and I are overwhelmed with thoughts of possibilities---good and bad.  We are only doing what is natural, of course.  The empty nest......I said it.  Right now, our nest is so full the stuff is overflowing out the door......it is not an empty nest yet..........Ok--I am ready to face this day.  I will be strong......I will have faith, trust, hope and I will IMAGINE the possibilities.....and all will be well for my little chickadees.....they will be just fine and they are at a school that I am sure they will SHINE!!!!!!!!!

Memories of Creative Escape

The last two years I was blessed beyond measure to attend Creative Escape in Phoenix Arizona.  A great place to look forward to going when summer was ending.  The weather is still sunny and hot and the scrapbooking is the greatest.  Eight talented teachers with the best projects (always a suprise so you don't know until class what you are making).  Dinner Saturday night with inspirational speakers and Desert first (last year it was chocolate and peanut butter-my favorite).
Beautiful scenery around the hotel and the best shopping.  My favorite store in the world is Melrose Vintage.  I will bring back good memories by sharing my pictures........Zandra and Debbie..........Enjoy this Escape and I can't wait to see and hear all about the shopping and crafting.  I am excited for you and will miss it, of course.  But,  I am so happy you are going and I will hear all about it!

Let's try this again

Click on this.   I know you thought I didn't want you to win. The picture I downloaded is supposed to be a blinkie for Basic Grey and their blog candy challenge and I just put in as a picture.  Good luck anyway!!!!!

Gotta love a giveaway

I have to admit I haven't scrapbooked in a while.  I always say it will be my therapy.  I hope it is.  I am now starting to think it might make me sadder when the twins leave for college.  I love having all the pictures in my computer since I started with my Mac in October---I am up over 2,000 pictures and it doesn't seem as overwhelming as my boxes of old photos I need to file or scrap.  Well any way at least I am thinking about it.  I think I may need a little pick me up---some new supplies maybe or win some in a giveaway.  So, I thought I would give it a shot.  I entered this contest:  Click on this for your chance, too

Postcard Friendship Friday

When I first went to take the pictures I thought not much has changed--the walkway is the same......the flags are still flying---maybe even more flags are flying......but, I forgot about the
dunes.  I am not a big fan of the dunes--it blocks the view of the ocean.  But, looking at this picture it is prettier.
When I take a picture of the postcard---I get a lot of glare. Next week I will have to take pictures of postcards in the Musuem mode so there is no flash.  There is no handwriting on the back.  It was made by Union Distributing in Red Bank, NJ.  It looks like from the bathing suits it was the early 60's......bb (before bikinis).  I love how everyone's hair is "done" and perfect.

Life is a beach.......

I was able to spend a day at the beach with my best friend from high school......
I watched my son's band played on the deck in our backyard......they have a horn section and played some Chicago, Southside Johnny and Springsteen.......
When they played The Doors they asked my husband to sing with them.....what a thrill!!!!!
I danced with my daughter.......
My son dedicated a song to me....Talk to Me by Southside Johnny......It was a great weekend.  My husband worked really hard to put this party on for the kids.  It was a little hard for me to help since I was working......I even missed cleanup because I had work the next day  and right now I am in recovery from having such a great weekend----I know the party was for the kids, but as you can see I had the time of my life!!!!!!!

My twins turn 18 tomorrow

Happy Birthday Ian and Kaylyn........18...........WOW!!!!!!!!!
I'll be here at work thinking of you!!!!!
Little notes like this will remind me of you!

Kaylyn looks pretty happy about visiting me at work.....that was a great day!!!!!
Do you ever not think about things and think wow I am adjusting to this pretty well.  I feel like that lately.  I am really happy I am working so much and being distracted from my children growing so fast and preparing to leave home and start college.  Tomorrow is their birthday....I was going to find some baby pictures and pictures of them now.......I don't think I can get to that--it's 10:30 pm and I have to leave for work at 8am.  My daughter did show me these pictures today, so I thought I would share with you my readers.
Time flies when you are having fun.  I really wish I had some pictures on the computer from when Kaylyn and Ian were young......something to work on.  Well, there is a lot to celebrate tomorrow...........HAPPY BIRTHDAY.........Kaylyn and Ian!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
