Celebrated my 53rd Birthday in New York City over the weekend.  Feeling very blessed to have a Mom who just turned 80.  Also, to have a beautiful family to celebrate my birthday with.  We were headed to Washington DC, but about a week before decided we would enjoy NYC better.  I had an awful cold the last two weeks and the thought of traveling farther away was not so appealing.  We started the day at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, went to Laduree, Morrison Hotel Gallery in So Ho and ended the day with a wonderful meal at La Mela in Little Italy.  I find myself still knocking on wood lately.  Not, wanting to exclaim how happy I am.....because life may have been good to me...but, I always seem to have had the one step up and two steps back luck.  Now, it is time to get back on track....lots to do around the house, for the store, going to see the kids this week and they could use some groceries and maybe some of mom's home cooking (I said maybe), and it seems like a list a mile long of to do's.  But, it truly was nice to be inspired.  Loved the Warhol show at the Met and all the galleries we visited in SoHo.
