Paper Sourcererrrrrrs

Denise is a co-worker at Paper Source.  She is hugely talented and I wish I had a link to her ebay so you can see the beautiful felt corsages she makes.  She also made this hat and I am so glad I was able to share Halloween with her.  We shared many laughs today......RibbOn.....sorry inside joke.
Ashley started the day with this lovely homemade baked brownie----they were so  tasty and full of chocolate goodness.  Thanks Ashley you made my day!!!!!!
Kristen made my day too.  Always fun and upbeat....is she the cutest flapper or what???
And here we are the Paper Sourcererrrrrs......is there such a thing as having too much fun at work?  Christina was there, too and we shared many laughs.  She was supposed to be a cat......I couldn't find a costume this morning and all I could find were cat ears.  I knew Christina was going to be a cat so that wouldn't work......thinking......thinking.......I thought I could wear the ears and when she asked what I was I would say I was a copy cat.......lol!!!!  I went out and bought a robe and realized halfway through the day we were Paper Sourcererrrrs....too funny.  I hope you all had an Happy Halloween.  This was a little different for me this year---but, my husband Glen survived answering the door for over 100 trick or treaters this year (that's what you get for always giving out the BIG candy bars!!!!!

The Big Man

Went to Barnes and Noble last night in Princeton to get Clarence Clemons new book "The Big Man''.  I met up with Sue Hensler and Laura Meschio.....sharing stories of glory days and some good memories of college.  It was funny for me because a lot of times I was like I remember this..... did it happen.???   My friend was like yes, you are on the video....and I am like they taped that stuff??? T000  funnyyyyyy!!!!  I was laughing so much---it felt good.  We had a good time in college and hope for that for our kids......but, we were still hoping they didn't get into any trouble......we were lucky enough to just have fun.....but, no trouble.  There was a long line which went very fast....not fast enough without running in to get a price of a sweater I really liked in Anthropologie....which I need to get out of my head......but, it was so pretty!!!!!!
Our encounter with Clarence was to get book signed, picture and please move away....I at least wanted him to sign it to my son Ian, but it was a long line and they wanted to get everyone's books signed.  The most fun was just remembering good times from times gone by.

I don't hate Mondays

I was able to see Ian and Kaylyn in Phillie last night.  I am so proud of them.  It was great to catch up and hear the latest and the greatest in their lives.  So many things for them.....Halloween parties......living in the city where the baseball team is in the World Series---they have seen and heard a lot so far with the Phillies winning the league championship.....they both started part time jobs last weekend......Ian is organizing a jazz Christmas band (he was surprised they didn't already have one)........and last night we were able to see the Jazz Ensemble he is in perform.....
Wow......they were good.....I am so glad Ian is performing.  We love to see the performances.  The music was swing meets bop....a lot of Dizzie Gillespie...they also had Jazz singers perform one song....it was upbeat and fun to listen to.
I started the day at work at Paper Source yesterday.  It was such a great day.  I love when customers bring in what they create with our products(canvas not available through Paper Source).  Melissa Cookman made this for a gift someone.  We were lucky enough to see it before she gave her present.  My favorite part of the job is when customers bring in what they have made.  Another customer Diane Faye came in and showed us the best usage of our papers so far.  She is a graphic designer and has a great blog and you can see her steamship invitations here.
The other great thing about Mondays is to see all the new product coming in.........and the other good thing about this Monday is I have Tuesday and Wednesday off so it was like tgim........I am catching up on my computer.....my car is getting fixed and now I must do something with this house........it is a disaster.........with the no children in the house it has left me feeling very unmotivated.....but, it has gone on long enough....my biggest problem is which pile to attack first.........the laundry.......the bills.........the dirty bathrooms........the empty refrigerator.....ok......get me off this computer so I can tackle these things!

Fun in Phillie

It was a cold and rainy day in the city.  But, it was Family Day.....so Ian and Kaylyn showed us the town....we were able to see where Ian is going to work.....great location right across the street from Anthropologie.......the red flags are buildings owned by the University of the Arts.  The city is their campus.....it's amazing.  Kaylyn will be working as a tour guide for the school.
They seem to be doing well, but it is mostly studio time that goes into their grade and they won't know how they are doing until the end of the semester.  We are going back again next week to see Ian in a Jazz Ensemble.

A corner of the Anthropologie store on Walnut Street in Philiadelphia
The staircase----4 floors of goodness
Ian playing in one of the many practice studios---the library was magnificent
Ian scooping out desert at Buca di Beppo
Hopefully my Mom will make it to Philadelphia for a visit and we will reserve the Pope room for dinner at Buca di Beppo.

Embracing turning 50

Embracing my inner Minnie Mouse

Making the most of every moment and trying to add a little fun in whenever possible.....
My husband gave me the best card for my fiftieth birthday.......
It said  Turning 50 means.......
looking back at the choices you've made.
the places you've been
and embracing the amazing person
they've helped you become-
it means wearing your confidence like a smile
and striding through your life-
regret-free, fearless, and purposeful
appreciating just how far you've traveled.
yet realizing the best of the best
is yet to come....
It means wrapping yourself in happiness
and celebrating every minute of being fifty
as if it were the best time of your life--
because it truly is!
It was the perfect card!!!!!  It made my day!!!!!  Most of the time I find it easy to blog....sometimes I can't find the right words...I am thankful to Hallmark and my husband Glen who gave me the right words for how I am feeling on my fiftieth birthday!!!!!
And as I am sitting here trying to decide if I continue blogging....my year anniversary is approaching in the blog world....do I continue......and I look at the back of the card and it says "Life is a book in which every year begins a new chapter."   MMMMmmm so this year was chapter one.....not the end.  So, I guess stayed tuned I am still blogging and apparently it is just the beginning and the best is yet to come---could it get any better than this!!!!!

You know you are turning 50 when

1.  Not only do you feel as free as a butterfly fluttering from one task to another, but time flies as quickly as a beautiful butterfly passes by.
2.  You get mail from AARP
3.  You decide it is time to get a pair of bifocals
4.  You are grateful for everything in your life.......family, friends, shelter, food and clothing
5.  My dad once told me there is more to life then peanut butter......there is.....but, I still could live on peanut butter.....it is my favorite and I could eat it everyday and be happy
6.  You believe wishes come true
7.  You wake up really early in the morning
8.  You can fall asleep in the middle of a tv show you have waited all week long to watch
9.  You are just plain content
10.  You don't want for much......except a quiet house every now and then for a peaceful rest

World Cardmaking Day

My favorite part of my job is making signs......I made this one to invite customers to make a card to celebrate World Cardmaking Day.....notice the stickles........we LOVE stickles!!!!!!!
This display was made to announce Paper Source's Holiday Card Making Contest.  For any info on Paper Source click on the Paper Source button on the right column.
We sold out our Girl's Night Out HO HO HO card making workshop.
Georgiann and Linda joined us for our Grand Opening and came back to join us for this workshop.
At the workshop each participant made six cards and envelopes using different techniques and received the red pocket portfolio with a letterpress HO! HO! HO! to keep their creations in.  We are thrilled to start participating in more workshops.  Our next workshop is the Grateful Table offering different ideas to bring to your Thanksgiving table.  We are halfway sold out and it hasn't even been offered on the internet yet.

Springsteen is the best!!!!!!

This shows how far away we were.  But, this night was about Glory Days gone by.......about feeling alive........celebrating feeling it's not a sin to be glad you are alive.  This post was going to be all about all the faith, love hope and strength I feel from Springsteen's music.  He did get up on the piano.......he did share a dream about turning 60......he sang so many of my favorite songs.......he tried to be compassionate for all who have lost their jobs(but, sorry I don't think as much as he sings about that he can really know what people are going through---he tries--) I went with my friend from High School....it was great catching up with her.  Her daughter just got married(when she was little I was so impressed because as soon as she heard a Bruce Springsteen song she would say Bruuuuuce---love that girl).   It was a show full of energy, inspiration and high hopes for the future.  He makes 60 look good----really good!!!!!!
Last night we had a card making workshop, (so I am pooped).  Tomorrow I will be posting about World Card Making Day.........
